Route of the Red Dog

Melvin, his wife Cecil Marie, and his daughter Nancy cruise the Red Dog from Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Galveston, Texas.  From Galveston, Melvin continues with an acquaintance who becomes ill after encountering a storm on the Gulf of Mexico and forces them to detour to Progreso, Mexico.  Melvin's friend returns home to Texas and, from Progreso to Bellingham, Washington, Melvin journeys alone.  Cecil Marie joins him on the final leg of the journey along the Inside Passage from Bellingham to Ketchikan, Alaska.
